Where to start?

Hmmm...well....I started blogging quite a while ago about things that were happening to me before with a hideous job I had, but that's over now. I've been back to school since 2003 starting at the age of 38. Boy what a wild ride that's been!

I worked full time at the hideous job so I could only take a class here and there. It was taking FOREVER. So I decided to quit and concentrate on going to school full time. I got my AA degree in 2006 from Pikes Peak Community College. I then transferred that fall to Metro State College in Denver.

Well, I live in Colorado Springs so for those of you that aren't familiar with Colorado, that is quite the commute. Why school in Denver you ask? Well there are no graphic design programs in Colorado Springs. Now if you were wondering what my major was, you know. I could have went to Colorado Technical University near my house, but the tuition was something like $5000 a semester, not something I could afford! My only choices were Pueblo or Denver. They are pretty much equidistant from where I live, but there is public transportation that can get me to Denver, so Denver it is.

Well I have been extremely happy with this twist of fate because Metro has provided me with one of the best educations I think I could get for the price. I think I have gotten a much better knowledge of graphic design than if I had gone to CTU.

Anyway, I decided to write to document the many thing that have happened to me in this long journey. I have one more year left and I'm sure lots of interesting things have yet to occur. As I said I commute by bus to Denver usually 4 days a week. Because of being a bus and stops a long the way this is usaully a 1-1/2 hour commute one way, then after getting on the light rail and walking to class it has become a 2-hour commute one way!! The FREX (Front Range Express) has provided me with many interesting stories. I will continue to write and tell of these adventures. But for now I must sign off.
